Review of CAdFE's Partnership with Les Étoiles de Mougins

The Business Club of Francophones in Estonia (CAdFE) was among the partners of the gastronomic events organized in early December by France Group Consulting Bureau and the Mougins Tourist Office, Les Étoiles de Mougins, and Elisabeth AZOULAY; Atout France, Benoit Chollet, and Charlotte Zeuthen Lesénécal; the French Embassy in Estonia and H.E. Emmanuel G. F. MIGNOT; the Estonian Chefs Association and Taigo Lepik; the Lydia Hotel, its gastronomic restaurant Holm, and its teams led by Diana Timberg.

Known for its gastronomy and way of life, Mougins, a garden city and the balcony of the French Riviera, offers a horizon like no other to those who take a detour: Cannes and the Lérins Islands, Grasse and its perfumes, Théoule and its Estérel. A city of art and culture, Mougins has been marked by the presence of great figures such as Fernand Léger, Jean Cocteau, Yves Saint Laurent, Winston Churchill, Edith Piaf, Catherine Deneuve, and especially the illustrious Picasso, who spent the last 12 years of his life here. Since 2006, the city has been organizing the gastronomic festival "Les Étoiles de Mougins" in September.

The organizers of the festival came to Estonia in early December and shared gastronomic events in which CAdFE participated as a partner: on December 5th, during a tasting of niche products, including brands of wines, spirits, and fine groceries, around twenty professionals - chefs, sommeliers, bartenders, importers - and influencers gathered at the Residence of the French Embassy in Tallinn.

The next day featured an exceptional Franco-Estonian gala dinner in Tartu at the Lydia Hotel restaurant. Chef Sven Pärn from the Hõlm restaurant in Tartu and his teams collaborated with the French chef and MOF Primeur, Frédéric Jaunault. The goal was to present an eight-course Franco-Estonian Christmas menu. The chefs faced a double challenge: creating a successful dinner using ingredients available in the Nordic winter and serving it to 70 guests, including three outstanding colleagues representing their respective communities of chefs. This included the Presidents of the Bocuse d'Or of Latvia and Lithuania, as well as the President of the Estonian Association of Chefs. The event took place in the Hõlm Restaurant.
